Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Monday, February 29, that Bedford County will receive $600,000 in Industrial Revitalization grant funds.
After a 45-year hiatus, the Bedford County Fair joined the VAF and left its first annual conference with 6 different awards.

This grant will be utilized to establish a Zero Interest Loan Program to assist entrepreneurs and will accelerate the economic revitalization.
The program will require participants to attend one class a week from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. to learn about flux-cored arc welding and gas metal arc welding.
Georgia-Pacific is launching a year-long commemoration throughout 2016 to honor the mill.
Hosted at the W.E. Skelton 4-H conference center in Roanoke, the conference will host over 30 speakers on topics ranging from Chinese medicinal herbs to sustainable livestock breeding and selection.
