On Monday, September 13, 2021, Sam Williams, Retired General Manager of the Bedford Southern States Cooperative, was recognized by the Bedford County Board of Supervisors for his leadership in the agriculture community. Thank you, Mr. Williams, for your outstanding service in Bedford County. Your expertise will be sorely missed.
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION for the Leadership of SAM WILLIAMS
WHEREAS, the Bedford County Agricultural Economic Development Advisory Board (Ag Board) and the Bedford County Board of Supervisors recognize that agriculture and forestry is Bedford County’s largest industry; and
WHEREAS, Sam Williams, General Manager of the Bedford Southern States Cooperative, retired, after completing outstanding service to the industry of agriculture for over forty three years; and
WHEREAS, the Bedford Cooperative brings a significant and consistent contribution to the agriculture industry under the leadership of Mr. Sam Williams, General Manager; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams has faithfully served the agriculture industry in Bedford County and the surrounding region for many years; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams has improved economic opportunities for agriculture producers through his industry expertise and excellent customer service; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams has supported agricultural educational programs for the community and local youth by providing opportunities and financial support; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams has supported the larger agricultural community of Southside Virginia through his vast influence and work in the region.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Bedford County Board of Supervisors hereby recognize Mr. Sam Williams for his outstanding dedication and leadership to Bedford County’s agriculture community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members and staff of the Board of Supervisors extend their sincere appreciation to Mr. Sam Williams through the adoption of this resolution directed that a copy be presented to him and made a part of the minutes of the Board of Supervisors meeting.
