For more than 50 years, Bedford County has operated a community cannery to be used by gardeners and farmers alike. The cannery, which is now open for the season as of Tuesday, July 1, has new hours and can help those looking to preserve their fresh summer produce for enjoyment in the cold winter months of the year. Located off of 460E and VA 811 behind New London Academy, the cannery is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 a.m. to noon.
