Forest-based manufacturing company, MRT Manufacturing (also known as Forestry Equipment of Virginia) was selected as one of Virginia’s 50 fastest growing businesses. MRT was the only Central Virginia-based business selected in the Commonwealth for 2013. Along with the its new 43,000 square foot facility built to weld its own steel, MRT has also added 45 full-time jobs in the past year. Out of the 50 businesses selected by Virginia’s Chamber of Commerce, MRT was one of only two companies in the manufacturing industry. With plans to grow 50 percent in the next five years, MRT will continue to have an impressive presence in Bedford County.
