Discover outdoor activities for all seasons.

Bedford County has four regional park sites that range in size from 120 to 250 acres. Located in Montvale, Moneta, Forest, and Bedford, these parks illustrate the county’s commitment to provide fun recreational facilities that promote healthy lifestyles and serve families, children and adults. These facilities include multi-use fields, outdoor courts, picnic shelters, disc golf, playground equipment and variety of extensive trails for bikers, hikers, and trail runners. The Falling Creek Bike Park was designed and built specifically for mountain and BMX bikers.

Falling Creek Park

At Falling Creek Park there is so much to do! In addition to the trails, we have an 18 hole disc golf course, picnic shelters, charcoal grills, children’s playground and a series of fitness stations located around the 1/3 mile paved walking path. It is also home to one what many are calling the State’s BEST skate park!

The 17,500 sq. ft. Skatepark offers flow style mix of banks, ledges, flip banks, rainbow rails, benches and two separate bowls. One bowl is an advanced vert bowl and the other has extensions, pump bumps, hips, escalating pockets and a large twinkie.
This Skatepark was the result of the Design/Build process with many in-kind donations of materials, labor, and equipment, thanks to the Bedford Skatepark Committee, Sentry Equipment and Bedford County.
So bring your bike, your disc golf bag, hiking boots, running shoes, skateboard and your family for a day in the park!

If interested in reserving any of the shelters please contact Bedford County Parks and Recreation at (540) 586-7682.

Montvale Park

More than 7 miles of entirely wooded single-track trails highlight this emerging park in Montvale, VA. Most stream crossings have footbridges or are easily forded. Wildlife in this area includes deer, turkey, and squirrels. While the rest of the park is still in the development stage the trail system is complete and ideal for mountain biking, trail running and hiking. From the park pavilion you’ll skirt around the perimeter of the large field, take a left at opening to the creek crossing and there is a footbridge you can cross or you can ride across the creek.

New London Tech Trails

Nearly 7 Miles of multi use mostly machine cut trail on 500+ acres in our New London Business & Technology Center park. Built for hiking, trail running and mountain biking for the employees in the park, it is free and open to the entire community. You will find smooth rolling terrain trails with limited trip hazards and clear lines of sight. These trails perimeter the property leaving room for future businesses to move in and develop their facilities. Sites are available now with a buffer and range in size from 8-48 acres.
