Bedford County has four farmers markets that provide fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables and meats, and handmade goods directly from the farmers and producers

Bedford VA Farmers Market

Located at 220 W. Washington Street under the Centertown Pavilion, Bedford VA Farmers Market features fresh fruits and veggies, jams, jellies, baked goods, meats and eggs. Local artisans offer a variety of talents such as jewelry, leather and sewn goods, and woodwork. The Bedford VA Farmers Market is proud to accept SNAP payments and provides educational programs and special events throughout the market season.

The 2024 Bedford VA Farmers Market operates monthly during the off season: February 22, March 15, April 19, and weekly on Saturdays, May 3 – September 28 from 8 a.m. – noon.

Forest Farmer’s Market

The Forest Farmer’s Market is an open-air producer-only market. Local vendors offer a wide selection of produce, fruit, meats, coffee, baked goods, wine, jams, and plants. Artisans create beautiful wood crafts, jewelry, glass art, and beauty products. The Forest Farmers Market accepts SNAP.

Located at the Forest Library, 15583 Forest Road, the Forest Farmers Market.
2025 Summer Market: every Saturday beginning April 26 – November 23 from 8 a.m. – noon
2025/26 Winter Market: second Saturday of the month, December through April from 9 a.m. – noon

Moneta Farmer’s Market

Located in Downtown Moneta at 13641 Moneta Rd, the Moneta Farmers Market is a producer-only market with vendors selling only what they raise, grow, or create. This will be a great opportunity for local farmers and artisans to share their wares.

The 2025 Moneta Farmer’s Market operates every Wednesday, May 7 through August 27 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. (No winter market is available at this time)
