The Bedford Grown program allows consumers, retailers, restaurants, farmers markets, and wholesalers to identify and promote locally grown produce or goods. The program is provided as a service of the Bedford Agricultural Economic Development Advisory Board (AEDAB), in partnership with the Bedford County Office of Economic Development and the Virginia Cooperative Extension.
Farmers and producers can proudly display the Bedford Grown logo. This logo indicates that their products are grown or raised in Bedford County.
Bedford Grown Brand Guidelines
The Bedford Grown branding program encourages farmers and producers to proudly display the Bedford Grown logo. This signifies when farm-based products are grown, raised or produced in Bedford County, Virginia. The program is a way for retailers, restaurants, farmers markets, and wholesalers to promote locally grown produce or products to consumers.
Guidelines:
- Products marketed as Bedford Grown will be grown, raised or produced in Bedford County.
- Nursery plants and trees marketed as Bedford Grown must have spent at least 75% of life beyond propagation or at least one year on a Bedford County farm/operation.
- For meat marketed as Bedford Grown, the animal must have spent at least 75% of its life on a Bedford County farm/operation.
